Heat exchanger and condenser tubes

heat exchanger

A heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between two media, usually consisting of multiple pipes. After using the heat exchanger tube for a period of time, due to the presence of solid particles or other impurities in the medium, it is easy to generate dirt and buildup inside the pipeline, which can lead to a decrease in heat transfer efficiency. In addition, the aging and corrosion of pipelines are also the reasons for the replacement of heat exchanger tubes. Replacing heat exchanger tubes is a common maintenance and upkeep task. Let's take a look at the specific operating methods below.

Firstly, disassembly work. Before starting to replace the heat exchanger tube, it is necessary to shut down the equipment and drain the medium in the pipeline. Then, use appropriate tools to remove the bolts on the pipe joint and separate the pipe from the heat exchanger body.

Next, check the status of the pipeline. Take the removed heat exchanger tube to the cleaning area and use professional cleaning agents and equipment to clean the inner wall of the pipeline. Pay attention to safety during cleaning to avoid damage to the skin caused by cleaning agents. After cleaning, inspect the appearance and inner wall for signs of aging, corrosion, indentation, etc. If any pipes need to be replaced are found, they need to be marked.

Then, prepare a new pipeline. Select a suitable new pipeline based on the type and size of the pipeline that needs to be replaced. Before installing a new pipeline, check whether the gaskets and sealing rings at the pipeline connection are intact and undamaged.

Next, install the new pipeline. Connect the new pipeline to the heat exchanger body and use a wrench and bolt to tightly connect the pipeline to the body, ensuring that there is no water leakage at the connection. For the replacement of large heat exchanger pipes, special brackets and lifting equipment can be used to ensure the safety and accurate installation of the pipes.

Afterwards, test and resume operation. The manufacturer of the condenser tube has informed you that after installing all new pipes, pressure and leakage tests will be conducted to ensure that there is no water leakage at the connection of the pipes. Then, inject the medium back into the pipeline and gradually restore the equipment to operation.

The replacement of heat exchanger tubes is a tedious and safety conscious task. During the operation process, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures and safety operation requirements. In daily maintenance and upkeep, regularly checking the condition of pipelines and cleaning the inner walls of pipelines can extend the service life of heat exchangers and improve heat exchange efficiency.
